Psychology of Self Defense – 3 Pathological Threats

snares for survival

A threat to oneself in self defense psychology often means that one is threatening one's identity. This defensive reaction is often hindered by the fact the threat is pathological. It doesn't care who gets hurt. To change the perception of the threat, it is important to affirm a value that you hold. The following are three examples of pathological threats. Learn more about each one.

Psychopaths don’t care who gets hurt

A psychopath won't care if you don't have an instinct for self-defense. They do not have any remorse for what they do and will not care who gets hurt. They won't feel guilty about hurting someone and will not care if they get hurt. Psychopaths have a very grandiose sense of self, and they believe the rules of the world don't apply to them. These people will do anything to get away with it, even harming other people.

They don't give a damn about who gets hurt

A psychopath on the other hand doesn't care about whether another person is hurt in self defence and will often manipulate. Psychopaths create fear in their victims and cover their threats with stories about disappearances or family secrets. This manipulation strategy will play on the victim's emotions and mind, so that they give into the bully's demands.

Imperfect self-defense

There is a difference in imperfect self-defense from ordinary self-defense. When a person believes he or she's in imminent danger and is forced to resort to using deadly force to defend himself or herself, it is called imperfect self defense. This doctrine does not apply in every situation.

A deadly force

If the self-defense victim believes that he/she is in imminent danger of being killed or severely injured, then it is legal to use deadly force. The rapist must threaten harm to the victim, with a substantial chance of death or great bodily injuries, in order to justify the use deadly force. A force that is unprovoked can be considered deadly. These elements are: Self defense must be justified by unprovoked attacks, reasonable fear of harm, or death, and force must only be used when necessary. But, there are exceptions: excessive force during initial attack and withdrawal.

Motivational theory

R.W. Rogers developed the protection motivation theory in 1975. This theory was later extended in 1983. The threat of cancer and smoking cessation were two major topics. The safe use of pesticides, bicycle helmets and reducing caffeine intake were minor topics. The research shows that the psychological and physiological factors affecting self defense are the same as for other topics.

Denialism

The primitive defense mechanism of denial is called denial. It can work alone or with other subtle mechanisms to prevent a person from dealing with unpleasant emotions or areas of life. Students might not acknowledge their lack of preparation during tests, for instance. In the same way, someone might avoid acknowledging their inexperience during a test by minimising their efforts. But, self defense denial can have serious consequences in certain situations.

FAQ

How can I make doomsday preparations on a tight budget?

It's not easy to prepare for an apocalypse. There are three things you can do to make sure that you are prepared for the apocalypse.

  1. Be sure to have enough food, water, and other essentials. Do not be caught without supplies in the event of a disaster.
  2. Solar-powered radios are available. If there's a power outage, this device will keep you informed about what's going on around the world.
  3. Learn how you can grow your own food. This will allow you to know exactly what foods you should eat. Plus, you won't have to worry about running out of supplies.

What should I get first in preparation?

Be sure to have enough water for everyone during your trip. They are extremely important!

Make sure you have enough sunscreen lotion. It doesn’t make a difference if you’re going on a hike or to the beach. You’ll still need it.

Do not forget to bring extra batteries to power your electronics. Don't forget to bring some sunglasses. You will not know how bright it is until you actually get there.

What to stock up on for the end of the world?

Although it may sound silly, knowing what to buy is essential if you want to survive the apocalypse.

Here's a list of essential items you should have in your home for when the world ends.

Prepare mentally and physically to face an apocalyptic future.

You need to be ready for any eventuality.

Start by making a stockpile for food and water.

Consider other essentials such first aid, fire starters and medical supplies like batteries, candles, matches or lighters, first-aid kits, emergency gear, and medical supplies.

Make sure you have enough money to last until the end.

Who knows how much time we will have to live?
